Palmetto Aerospace is developing liquid propellant VTVL rockets to put small sats in orbit.

We're looking for people with rocket related experience: at another company, in the military (highly regarded), at school, or DIY (Doing It Yourself, very highly regarded!).

We want people who will help us reach that goal, self starters (DIY), who will take the lead in the areas of Rocket Electronics and Rocket Propulsion.

Includes developing and building rocket flight hardware and software in the following areas

ROCKET ELECTRONICS:

Vehicle Guidance - CPU, IMU, TVC actuation Test and flight controls, with operator interface Data collection, Telemetry, storage and analysis Abort monitoring and safety systems ROCKET PROPULSION: Thrust chambers including propellant feed, injectors, ignitors, cooling 500 lbf and 5000 lbf Lox and (Kero or LNG) Pressure and pump fed Vehicle structure Cryogenic Tanks and plumbing (valves,ducts, connections etc.) Supports Analysis of loads Recovery systems Ground Support Equipment Test stand Transport, Erector, Launcher Tank fill/drain SKILLS: Electronic design and assembly Rocket plumbing and assembly Physics Software: Solidworks, MATLAB, Visual Studio C#, FEA, rendering, IMU Mechanical analysis Fabrication: welding, manual and CNC lathe and mill

We're on the move and want help getting up to escape velocity! If you have some rocket related experience in these areas and a passion for rockets and want to fulfill it, here's your chance!

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with value based on relevant experience and abilities, including the ability to take the initiative and do!

Requires relocating to the beautiful Columbia area of South Carolina.   We'll give you some help with this.

Columbia is the state capital and home of USC (University of South Carolina).  Housing is plentiful and affordable, cost of living is low.  Easy local driving to/from work and activities.  Kayak in the Broad river that separates West Columbia from Columbia.  Good fishing and water sports at nearby Lake Murray.  Plenty of nice beaches 2-3 hours away. Skiing is 4 hours away. And you'll have time to enjoy life too.

We'll be developing and launching from Spaceport Camden, Georgia, about 4 hours down the Interstate from Columbia.
